Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize software components on Linux
- Integrate and manage network communications (TCP/IP, TLS/mTLS, certificate handling, internal/external APIs)
- Containerization and packaging (e.g., Docker, systemd, service lifecycle management, logging and observability)
- Debugging and troubleshooting on real systems: log analysis, profiling, fault handling, and issue reproducibility
- System and application hardening: security best practices, secret management, updates, and attack-surface reduction
- Automated testing (unit/integration), continuous code quality improvement, code reviews, and operational technical documentation
Qualifications and skills
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a software engineer on Linux-based systems
- Strong knowledge of Python and C/C++
- Solid understanding of:
- Linux environments
- Networking: HTTP/REST, sockets, TCP/IP fundamentals, DNS
- Application security: TLS/mTLS, certificate management, hardening principles
- Tooling: Git, code review practices, issue tracking
- Team mindset, accuracy, ownership, and ability to meet deadlines
- Working technical English (written and spoken)
Nice to have
- Programming languages: Go, Rust
- PQC (Post-Quantum Cryptography): familiarity with standards/primitives, libraries, integration, and threat modeling
- K3s / Kubernetes: deployment, service discovery, ingress, update strategy, cluster troubleshooting
- Experience with:

- CI/CD (Jenkins)

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in research, innovation, and feasibility studies focused on next-generation quantum communication and QKD technologies
- Contribute to national and international research projects, including system design, laboratory testing, experimental validation, technical reporting, and preparation of project deliverables.
- Support the design, prototyping, and characterization of quantum communication systems, including optical, electronic, and opto-electronic subsystems.
- Develop and test electronic control, synchronization, and readout solutions for quantum optics experiments and QKD setups.
- Collaborate closely with internal R&D teams on system-level integration, spanning quantum optics, electronics, firmware/software, and telecom infrastructure.
- Support field deployments, system integration, and troubleshooting in operational environments within research projects and pilot installations.
Qualifications and skills
- Master’s degree or PhD in Quantum Physics, Applied Physics, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience with: Single-photon detectors (SNSPDs, SPADs) and associated readout electronics ; Lasers, optical modulators, and fiber-optic components; Quantum optics experiments, such as interferometers and entanglement-based sources; Electronic and mixed-signal instrumentation, including AWGs, ADC/DAC boards, timing and synchronization electronics, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
- Solid understanding of QKD protocols, quantum optics theory, and system-level performance metrics
- Experience in electronics for experimental physics, including signal conditioning, noise mitigation, timing accuracy, and hardware debugging
- Proficiency in scientific programming, preferably in Python, for data acquisition, analysis, and experiment automation
- Experience managing R&D activities, including timelines, documentation, and technical reporting
- Strong analytical skills and a structured, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams combining physics, electronics, software, and telecom expertise
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in a technical environment
- Willingness to travel for project meetings, testing, and field activities
