ECOC 2025 in Copenhagen has once again established itself as the premier international event for optical technologies and telecommunications innovation. The participation of QTI marked a significant milestone, highlighting both cutting-edge quantum cryptography solutions and meaningful engagement with experts and industry partners worldwide.

Workshops and Scientific Exchange
Our ECOC journey began with two key workshops:
“Quantum Key Distribution – Advancements, Challenges and Real-World Implementation”
Speakers: Alessandro Zavatta, Davide Bacco, and Tobias Gehring.
This workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), addressing technical challenges as well as practical implementation opportunities. Discussions highlighted how QKD systems can be integrated into real-world infrastructures to ensure advanced security for critical communications.
“Is the Access Network Ready to Host Quantum Technologies?”
Speaker: Davide Bacco.
This session explored the strategic integration of quantum technologies into access networks, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure readiness for quantum-ready networks.
These workshops allowed the QTI team to share our experiences and gather feedback directly from the global scientific and industrial community, reinforcing Italy’s role in advancing quantum technology research and development.

Participation in the Petrus CSA Demonstration
One of the highlights of our ECOC presence was participating in interoperable QKD demonstration coordinated by Petrus CSA, where QTI presented our complete #Quell-X system, the DV BB84 QKD system, and the #QKME Key Manager solution integrating ETSI 020 standard.
Collaboration with Telsy enabled the integration of their #TelsyAntares quantum-secure video call solution, demonstrating how quantum security can extend to advanced and critical communication services. This partnership serves as a concrete example of how research and industry can work together to bring cutting-edge innovations to market.

ECOC 2025 also offered numerous networking opportunities, from our presence at the Focus Bar to interactions with international partners, colleagues, and stakeholders. These moments strengthened existing relationships and opened new avenues for collaboration in developing quantum-safe technologies for telecommunications.
Participation in ECOC 2025 was also the opportunity to highlight the achievements in the field of quantum cryptography and future telecommunications technologies, of the EQUO Project, of which QTI is a partner.
Our commitment to research and development, combined with collaboration with international partners, positions us as leaders in the transition toward secure, resilient networks ready to meet the challenges of quantum communications.
We remain dedicated to turning today’s challenges into tomorrow’s concrete opportunities for innovation in telecommunications.
