The future of secure communication is light-based, and there is no better place to witness this revolution than at SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco. This year again, our team joined the global photonics community at the Moscone Center to showcase our latest advancements in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Cybersecurity.
From institutional receptions to high-level technical networking, here is a recap of our experience at the world’s premier photonics and laser event.
A Warm Welcome at the Italian Consulate
Our journey in San Francisco began with a significant honor. Our COO, Alessandro Zavatta, and Quantum Researcher, Giacomo Ferranti, were received at the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco.
This meeting underscored the strategic importance of Italian Deep Tech on the international stage. As Italy continues to invest in its national cyber resilience, the support of our diplomatic institutions remains a cornerstone for fostering technological exchange and digital sovereignty between Europe and the United States.
The Pulse of the Market: QKD and Quantum Communication
Walking the floor at Photonics West, one thing became crystal clear: Quantum Communication is no longer a laboratory experiment; it is a rapidly scaling industry. We observed a massive surge in interest. From aerospace giants to telecommunications providers, sectorial stakeholders are increasingly looking toward QKD as the definitive answer to the “quantum threat.” The conversation has shifted from “if” we need quantum-secure networks to “how fast” we can integrate them into existing fiber-optic infrastructures.
Our presence at the Italian Pavilion was a hub of activity. We were surprised to meet with numerous potential partners, ranging from hardware manufacturers to systems integrators. These interactions highlighted a shared goal: the need for scalable, interoperable, and market-ready quantum solutions.
Looking Ahead: The Quantum Leap Continues
As we leave San Francisco, we carry with us a renewed sense of purpose. The connections made at Photonics West are the seeds of future collaborations that will help define the Quantum Internet.
Whether it is protecting central government data or securing the financial transactions of tomorrow, we are committed to providing the “future-proof” shield that the digital era demands.
Missed us in San Francisco? If you didn’t have a chance to stop by our booth but want to learn more about how our Quantum Key Distribution solutions can secure your organization’s future, feel free to reach out to our team.
